Read about Pete and Jeane Ann on the web site as they join us on this our second Journey with Confound the Wise Ministries. Please follow our travels and speaking engagements (click on calendar) as well as praises and prayer up dates on our website – confoundthewise.org. Our ministry would be powerless without your consistent prayers and support.
Our God is awesome!! And in 1 Kings 8:59,60,61 it states: 59) “And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the Lord, be nigh unto the Lord our God day and night that He maintain the cause of His servant, and the cause of His people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require: 60) That all the people of the earth may know that the Lord is God, and that there is none else. 61) Let your heart therefore be perfect (and we are in Jesus) with the Lord our God, to walk in His statues, and to keep His commandments, as at this day.”
In light of these verses please pray:
-That God would cause Rick and Susan, Pete and Jeane Ann’s hearts to continue to seek our God in His righteousness and to trust our God Who Alone remains faithful.
- that God would open doors of opportunity to speak-
as we map our progress that we would not need to
backtrack, thereby helping us to be good stewards
of time and financial resources.
- as we “go” that God will draw the people He
wants to hear the message and that He would open
their hearts not only to hear, but choose to believe
His Word rather than man’s and would choose to walk as 1 Tim. 6:20 it states “Oh Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:”
- also, for godly wisdom (not our own), safety, sweet sleep, health, strength, stamina and endurance. Specifically please pray for Rick’s back and knee pain to subside, and for Jeane Ann’s health
– for a definite hedge of protection from the enemy whose name is satan and that God will remove any of his hindrances or snares.
-That God would convict us of any pride as He cleans and prepares our hearts to work as one and allow the Holy Spirit to flow through us as we work together in our endeavors.
-We need godly behavior and attitudes while preparing to go (Pray Jeane Ann will be able to travel with us as much as possible)
-That God’s angels would surround us as we follow Him and especially during this 2nd journey
-God’s provision: Pete and Jeane Ann, ”we are actually stepping out and asking the Lord for a B class Motor home not more than 2 years old and only a few thousand miles (hey, I prayed in specifics for my husband and look what I got. It works when it is His will).”
Rick and Susan: medical, truck repair & maintenance, and bills paid before we go. (Up date: 4/20/10 Praise the Lord, the medical expenses were reduced by $1500 with the balance now at $0; and our truck is now repaired and maintained and ready to go, we are still praying our bills will be paid before we go/ This prayer was answered 2 days before we left 4/26/10).
A small 4 wheel drive car (good gas mileage and condition) to pull behind our camper/truck. (update) This prayer was answered as we were in WA. We are now pulling a 1995 Nissan Maxima on a new 16 foot trailer that were donated to Confound the Wise Ministries in June 2010. We are saving money on fuel and it is much easier to get around once we are settled in a campground near the speaking venue, especially in the big cities.

Increase in prayer and financial support partners through churches and individuals; without them we cannot go, and without prayer under girding we don’t want to step out, as we know we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph. 6:12); but we are going while we follow the Captain of the Host of angles; our Lord Jesus.
New DVD’s to be completed and ready before we leave in April. (update 5/18/10: Rick is reviewing the edited version, so it is close to being completed, please continue to pray for this awesome tool to be used for God’s glory).
As we visited with a long time friend, he encouraged us to share with you that we have been invited for Rick to speak for two weeks at a college in Fiji. I hesitated, because of the location, who wouldn’t want to go to Fiji. But they have been in contact with us since Rick spoke at the Godly Conference in Tempe. AZ 1/09 and say they can cover the cost of our stay, but not our air fare. So please pray that God would supply air fare for us (Rick won’t travel without me). If truly this is His open door for our ministry He will provide a way.
Please join Rick and me as we pray for an Air Stream trailer (30 feet long or less). Our 8 foot camper is a little cramped for these journeys, and it is becoming more and more difficult as we “go.”

Rick and I praise God that He has brought like minded fellow laborers alongside us in Confound the Wise Ministries to encourage us and to minister God’s Word to the people. We live in close proximity to one another and we all love the Lord and share in our passion for God and His unchanging Word. “And this they did,not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God. 2Cor. 8:5″
Pete and Jeane Ann Greer are both retired school teachers. Pete retired from teaching High School Biology and taught in the public schools for 33 years. They have been studying and preparing in the creation sciences for seven years and praying for such an opportunity as this.
As a trial run, Rick and Pete just completed a 2 day seminar in our area with a lot of good feed back.
Pete has decided to join us on many of the upcoming speaking engagements (click on our web site’s calendar) and as she is able, Jeane Ann will join us for part of the journey in person, but all of it in prayer.

Rick and I have been praying, planning and contacting many pastors and friends as we look forward “going on another missionary journey this spring-fall.” You can track our journey on the web calendar and I will keep you abreast of what God does through us as you pray for us. We thank God upon every remembrance of all who pray and financially support God’s ministry, Confound the Wise. Our ministry exists to educate people and underline the fact that His Word remains true, forever. There are only two types of wisdom. Man’s (world’s) wisdom based on opinion and deception and God’s wisdom based on the inerrant Word of God, and through His wisdom He confounds the wise (1 Cor 1:27).
This month will start with Rick lecturing for the ministry, Concerned Christians. They minister to people coming out of Mormonism, a cult that preaches, “a different gospel…let them be accursed (Galatians 1:9).” Many of the people coming out of Mormonism have difficulty with the fact that God created by speaking all into being from nothing (creation ex nihlio). That is why Rick has been invited to speak, to encourage them in their new faith in the Lord Jesus as their Savior, and in the inerrancy of the Scriptures: Genesis-Revelation. It is God’s Word that sets us free (John 8:36) from deception and the opinion of man.
March 8-10 We will be at Calvary Chapel Tucson’s pastor’s conference hosting a table with information and DVD’s for Confound the Wise Ministries. A new set of DVD’s were filmed in 10/09 in Tucson as Rick spoke to numerous audiences in the public as well as Christian realms; including University of Arizona, Tucson. The DVD’s are being edited as I write this, and are scheduled to be available in April.
Prayer Requests:
that God would continue to open doors of opportunity for Rick to minister and build up other’s faith in God’s Word.
That opportunities would be sequential so as not to waste fuel and time
As we “go,” that God would open hearts to receive Jesus as their Savior and choose to believe God’s Word and His wisdom as they set aside man’s opinion and deception, resulting in many being set free to serve God.

Rick and I want to thank our prayer warriors and supporters for your continued diligence as we move forward through the open doors God shows us as we “go” for His glory. The conference in the UK was truly blessed and many were encouraged by Rick’s lectures.
We joined the Calvary Chapel, St. Paul, MN group (50 of us) and traveled with them in Egypt, Jordan, and Israel. It was truly a blessing and you can view the pictures at calvarychapelsaintpaul.org. We all came away knowing that the time is short before our Lord comes for His church. It is difficult to pick a favorite memory, but for me one of them is our time in a recreated village in Nazareth, the place of Jesus’ conception. Yesterday on the news, we heard a Bible teacher say they have found archeological proof of a 1st century village on that site and once again the Bible is proven correct. We saw them working on the site when we were in Nazareth.

CHRISTMAS 2009
ABUNDANT LIFE, HOPE, PEACE, JOY, LOVE: OFFERED TO ALL SINNERS
God’s plan of the ages…it is not a secret…it was done openly. It all started over 2000 years ago in a little town in Israel called Nazareth in. “…and the angel answered an said to her (the Jewish virgin named Mary) the Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Highest will overshadow you: therefore, also, that Holy One Who is to be born will be called the Son of God (Luke 1:35).”
God, Jesus, was conceived in Nazareth; born in Bethlehem; taken to Egypt; returned to Nazareth and grew into a man, a carpenter by trade: God among us, Emmanuel, God with us. After three years of open ministry, miracles and teaching, He offered Himself as a sinless sacrifice to take the penalty for our sins in our place so we could now come to God, His way. He was crucified (without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin) out side the walls of Jerusalem. After He died He was buried in a tomb near Golgotha, and after three days He rose from the dead, and now is at our Father’s right hand praying for us. Because He was willing to do this, all who believe in Him and confess Him as their Lord-will live with Him forever-all others will reside in the Lake of fire; forever.
Soon and very soon the world, which has been under the curse since Adam and Eve rebelled against God, will change…for now, God’s hand is stretched out still, and He says, “come now let us reason together,” says the LORD, “though your sins are as scarlet they will be as white as snow though they be as crimson they will be white as wool,” if we will repent and turn from our own way to God’s way.
Jesus will come again with all His saints (all who believe in Him) and as He sets His foot on the Mount of Olives-the earth will split and He will return to Jerusalem as King of kings and Lord of lords. Finally, He will set up His righteous kingdom and His kingdom will come as His will is done on earth as it is in heaven. Believers will rule and reign with Him and remain with Him, forever.
Come quickly Lord Jesus!
The Scriptures are true from the beginning to the end. In the light of this, let us live for His glory.

CONFOUND THE WISE MINISTRY NEWS LETTER
For those of you that are receiving this information for the first time I would like to invite you to go to the Confound The Wise Ministry web site www.confoundthewise.org to get an idea what Susan and I have been doing since we left Mount Hermon. For those who have been involved in this ministry all along, through prayer and financial support, as well as, those who are new I will try to bring you up to date, currently.
I have recently been invited to join a new ministry sponsored by Pastor Chuck Smith at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. The ministry is called Logos Research Associates. It is a ministry composed of Creation Scientists in an effort to bring together top Creation Scientists in one place to work together. The web site is: www.logosresearchassociates.org
This past year was an exciting and busy year for Susan and me, as well as. for Confound The Wise Ministries. I was invited to write an article in Answers Magazine at Answers In Genesis Ministries in Florence Kentucky. It was published in the July-September issue. You can get a copy or read the article at www.AnswersMagazine.com or www.answersingenesis.org. In the spring we were invited to speak at several churches and other venues in California and we were well received. As a result of that tour we have received and accepted several speaking engagements for this next year. We had an awesome time traveling and speaking through out the Mid-West from July through September. We traveled from Arizona to our first speaking stop in Durango Colorado then on to Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Kentucky and back to Iowa and then to Minnesota for three weeks then to Wisconsin and finished in North and South Dakota. It was a very emotional and rewarding time for us when we visited Wofford Kentucky, where I spent my childhood. It was fun introducing Susan to my relatives and show her where I grew up. I was invited to speak at Wofford Baptist Church where I attended as a child it had been 55 years since I had been back to this Church.
After returning to Arizona at the end of September we were invited to speak in Tucson where we spent 9 days. I spoke at the University of Arizona and several
public and Christian High Schools as well as the youth group and college group at Calvary Chapel Tucson. While in Tucson I was invited to speak for the Arizona Origins Society as well. The pastor at Calvary Chapel Tucson arranged to have a professional film crew shoot over 18 hours of video and it is being edited to produce several new DVDs to be available through Confound The Wise Ministry in January 2010
We were continually blessed all along the way by the number of young people and adults who made first time commitments to the Lord Jesus Christ. They were able, for the first time, to justify the book of Genesis and Science. We are still receiving
e-mails advising us of other commitments that we were unaware of.
We are currently in contact with many of the pastors that we met this spring and summer to schedule lectures next year. Also, as a result of the contacts we made
along the way we have been invited to speak at a Creation Conference in London England November 24th through the 30th. The Conference is sponsored by Morriell Ministry in England. Another blessing that we have received is a trip to Egypt and Israel December 2nd through the 18th. We will fly from England to Egypt and Israel as guests of Pastor Chik Chikallis, the Pastor at Calvary Chapel Saint Paul, Minnesota.
As you can see, God has BLESSED this Ministry greatly and it is because of Christians like you, who have bathed us in Prayer as well as financial support that we are able to continue serving God through this Ministry.

Hello,
So much has happened on this journey it is hard to know where to begin, so I’ll begin with today. Yesterday and this morning Rick spoke at Concordia Academy (400+ high school students) and was very well received. At the close of today’s session one of the seniors came by to express his gratitude for our coming to his school. He stated, “In the past we have had many creation vs. evolution speakers that bored us to tears. But Dr. Oliver, your lecture was so engaging and timely for us as students preparing for college, thank you for coming.”
We arrived in Fargo, ND this afternoon and are staying with pastor Seth Wetter and his family. Rick will speak tomorrow at Calvary Chapel, Fargo and on Thursday at Calvary Chapel, Grand Forks, ND. We will then head for home in Tonto Basin, AZ for a little rest and relaxation before heading for Tuscon in October, and England in November and Israel in December.
Thank you all for your prayers and support without which we could not go to do God’s work.
